My Film Evaluation

While making this short film there was quite a few ups and downs with; working together, the planning and I think just the whole execution and process of the film was difficult as a whole, but we managed to pull through and make this work. All three of us didn't know each other and what our strengths were when going into this for the first time, but we where able to adapt and be able to use each other's ideas effectively. We came up with the idea straight away and was able to figure out what did and didn't work and support each other's ideas, we supported and adapted situations to how we could make it work and exchanged knowledge such as; working a camera, editing, the relation to the mise-en-scene and to how we want the film, scenes to look and the overall outcome.

I think when we started we where all very excited and fired up and being all "This is going to be so easy" but it wasn't, we had to think about; Costumes, concept, costumes, the meaning and all these other objectives. Some scenes and shots we could shot and edit straight away on paper and we were quite positive at the start, but we lost the motivation and the time we had to make the film, I think we overestimated and took the time we had for granted which left us not being able to produce our original idea that we wanted to do at the beginning. We shot the main important parts that we definitely needed but after that we didn't get to film due to helping out other people and I was absent for one shooting day as well as Ollie so Harriett had no help in filming. We also didn't end up filming during our week off due to distance in areas of us all living far away from each other.

We did loose hope in making the film and thinking it wasn't going to work, this led towards the group being stressed out and not knowing what we wanted to do or how we could save our film as we was running out of time. We had to come up with and idea that could work quick so we decided on taking the clips that we had and edit them together to see what we had and quickly add what we could. We ended up with a slightly different concept but keeping the elements of our plan just adapting it to the little time that we had left. We recorded last minute audio from our script and did some last minute filming to we had more than a 2 minute short film.

Overall I think our film when pretty well and we was able to come up with a stable concept and production of a short film. We tried to make it different and effective and we hoped that it was entertaining to watch because I personally enjoyed it.
