Stoker Scene Analysis & Horror Genre Analysis
Stoker- Staircase disadvantage sequence. During this sequence the two characters India and Charlie as there is a contrast between the two as they seem to try and control who is more superior than the other. India begins at the bottom of the stairs and the shot is show from a High angle, this is used to make India appear to be smaller making her seem inferior, this adds to the impact and irony as she is at the bottom of the stairs. However Charlie is at the top of the stairs and is shot at a low angle making his appear bigger therefore more superior towards India. The director as used to to help the audience identify who is more powerful than the other in the scene, however this will tend to cause confusion as the shots shift and so does the position of the characters and where they are placed in the scene. India begins to move up the stairs as charlie moves down, which then turns towards it being the two shot, this is the only time the two are seen to be level and balanced throughou...
